Maneck Check-Mated in 6 moves
Move 1: Susan Maneck sept 27 , 9:46 pm
Can someone who actually knows something about computers tell me if it is even possible to infect a website?
Move 2: John MacLeod sept 27, 10:37 pm
The silicon heads may argue over the terminology but in simple terms the answer is yes.
The easiest thing to do of course if you can get access to the computer is to alter the content of the web site. This might not present a great difficulty to a good hacker as security on most personal web pages isn't a big issue.
Perhaps as a service project some Youth could alter the content of the Third Guardian's little web site so it became an on-line Ruhi site?
Move 3. Wahid Azal, Sept 29, 2:37 pm
Thank you, Joubin jan. This information is actually known by the baha'im cultists.
Last year they forwarded this very information you mention above and posted it all over to their list Tarikh, which contained the webmaster's name and home address in Germany, a Mr Niku who is one of our active Bayanis in Europe from a well established Bayani family.
As a result of this first attempt to hack into our site, we informed the domain (and sent the email which was posted on tarikh) and heavy duty firewalls were put up. Right now since the last attempt to hack the site, even more security has been established for Bayanic.com making it as impenetrable a site can be on the www.
One honestly has to ask the question, an organization which thinks itself as protected by the Almighty, the paragon of high truth and its "institutions" the very mouthpiece for the divine, is sure as heck paranoid like a schizophrenic on weed about certain skeletons in its closets which we Bayanis are now dragging out by force for the world to see.
After I posted an announcement regarding Husayn 'Ali Nuri's Baghdad era letter on my own list, Baya...@yahoogroups.com, it did not take even 24 hours for the hacking attempts to begin in earnest.
Move 4: Susan Maneck, Sept 30, 4:19 am, stepping right in it:
That's exactly what it is. I've been on Tarikh since its inception and there was never any discussion as to how to hack into people's website.
There *was* some discussion as to how Nima had been hacking into our list, however. Mr. Niku's name never came up, in fact this is the first time I've seen anyone give out the name of an Azali. Do you suppose this was a slip?
I wonder how Nima's Bayani friends will feel about this?
Move 5: Wahid Azal, Sept 30, 8:34 am
Once again, it is so nice and refreshing to reveal Maniac as the liar which she is and always will be and always has been.
The following was posted on the Tarikh list in March and forwarded to my mailbox. Don Calkins had attempted to hack into Bayanic.com. There was a whole thread around the issue.
At 9:58 -0500 3/30/05, Peter Terry wrote:

I guess I missed the guy's name.
In any case we were discussing whether or not this was really an Azali website or just something Nima came up with, not how to hack it.

The Universal House of Justice Department of Secretariat
20 February 2003
Transmitted by email: o...@iinet.net.au
Mr. Omeed Taheri Australia
Dear Baha'i Friend,
Your email letter of 21 December 2002, sent on behalf of your sisters Mrs Mahshid Taheri-Jones and Dr. Guity Taheri in addition to yourself, has been received. We have been asked to provide the following response.
The Universal House of Justice understands your distress at the action taken by the National Spiritual Assembly of Australia in removing the administrative rights of your father, Mr Hamid Taheri, and your ardent desire to have this action rescinded. However, it has decided, after a detailed examination of this matter, that the decision of the National Assembly should be upheld and that he should remain deprived of these rights.
In accordance with the procedure set out in Section VIII of the By-Laws to "The Constitution of the Universal House of Justice", an appeal against such a National Spiritual Assembly decision should be made by the individual concerned, who would, in the first instance, approach his National Spiritual Assembly for reconsideration or submission of his appeal to the House of Justice. In this instance, the House of Justice decided to investigate the circumstances surrounding the removal of Mr. Taheri's rights, despite the fact that there was no indication of his having initiated an appeal.
Mr Taheri's administrative rights were removed in August 2002 for his failure to adhere to a commitment to the National Assembly in May 2002 in which he signed. Just before the National Assembly took this action its Secretary had ascertained, through a telephone call to Mr. Taheri, that he was determined not to follow the Assembly's instructions and that he was aware of the possible consequences of his disobedience.
Following its receipt of your letter, the House of Justice asked the National Assembly to inquire further into Mr Taheri's attitudes.
From statements made directly to the National Assembly Chairman, it is clear that he remains unrepentent about his actions and that he continues to manifest an intense animosity toward the Baha'i administrative bodies.
The House of Justice is most concerned about Mr. Taheri's attitude to the institutions of the Cause. It hopes that his own study of the authoritative texts of the Faith concerning the Covenant and the institutions to which it gives rise will enable him to make the necessary changes in attitudes and conduct which would open the way to restoration of his rights. Your own example of unyielding adherence to the principles of the Faith, as well as your wholehearted support of the decisions of the National Assembly, could well play an important role in encouraging him to make the required alterations to his thinking.
Your letter raises the issue of the plan of the National Assembly to publish in the national Baha'i newsletter an announcement of the removal of his administrative rights. In general such matters are left to the discretion of a National Spiritual Assembly, which is asked to consider the particular circumstances in each instance, including the possibility of the believer concerned visiting other Baha'i communities which might not be aware of his Baha'i status.
As regards Mr Taheri, there is good reason for an announcement to be published in the national newsletter, in light of his recent extensive travels.
The Universal House of Justice recognizes that you are apprehensive about the effect on members of the family when it becomes more widely knwon that your father's administrative rights have been removed. It urges your to reflect on the seriousness of his actions, and to strive to obtain a deeper insight into the damaging effect that his attitude towards the Baha'i institutions could have on other believers who might not be well deepened in the Faith, if they are not ware of his Baha'i status.
Your are assured of the prayers of the Universal House of Justice in the Holy Shrines at this time of difficulty for you.
With loving Baha'i greetings, Department of the Secretariat

Disreputed Terms
Larry Rowe wrote on 10/09/05:
In a recent conversation I personally had with just such a Baha'i he stated that "liberal Baha'i" and "conservative Baha'i" are terms which are disreputed in the Baha'i Faith!
Such a deep sense of denial is startling to say the least, just where this deep sense of denial originates is the important question.
I believe that the denial that currently exists in the Baha'i Faith to do with liberal-conservative issues as well as many other issues can be traced directly to a sense of inferiority within the Baha'i Faith.
Until such time that the difficult problems, issues and subjects are resolved the Baha'i Faith will slide further into insularity, obscurity, and cultishness; further from world religion status and closer to indistinguishability from the many other cults which have arisen in the past one hundred and fifty years.

Declining IQ of the Cult
Craig wrote on 07/09/05 in response to the RBCSS statement:
This mentality is a total, complete, unmitigated disgrace and shows everything that is wrong with us! We are now a shameful incentuous cult whose collective IQ is going down by the hour. Just pathetic!

Baha'i way of Life
Eric Stetson wrote on 06/09/05:
The Baha'i way of life, as it is commonly practiced today, involvestwo basic aspects:
1. A strong tribalistic mentality of Baha'i = "the friends," and spending lots of time doing things only within this social group.
2. Relationships with the non-Baha'i world are focused mainly around the goal of converting people. Non-Baha'is are generally viewedas "potential seekers," not just as fellow human beings to be respected and shown love and compassion just for who they already are.

Its not about food packages

The prevalent "Baha'i/non-Baha'i" dichotomy which is how Baha'is see the world.
Humanity isdivided into two groups, the "friends" and the "potential seekers."
While many churches are focusing on helping people and beingcharitable regardless of religious affiliation, the Baha'i Faith seems to be encouraging its members primarily to focus on helping other Baha'is. At least that's the way that letter from the SRC sounds.
A religion that tells its members donate 19% of their income to the religion("Huququllah") ought to be giving a significant portion of that moneyaway to help poor people in need, regardless of whether they areBaha'i or not. JMHO.
It's all about "promoting the process of entry by troops" (i.e.proselytizing) -- not food packages and hot showers for natural disaster victims.

What is someone is not a "friend"?
AK wrote on 06/09/05:
My question is: What if someone is NOT a "friend"? Are the friendsonly helping friends? Can only friends help other friends in need? Where is the unity?
What about the other 10,000's of people needingshelter and help?
if I am not a Bahai, do I have to be a seeker toget love and care from the Baha'is?
The churches and religious organizations where I live do not ask what their religion is before they offer showers, food, and shelter?????
Just trying to figure this Baha'i way of life out,

Historic response to Hurricane Katrina
Dearest Friends,
Based on the information we have received thus far all the friends inthe beleaguered Gulf Coast area have been accounted for. PraiseBaha'u'llah!
Some friends have lost significant material possessionsbut the most important news is that the friends are safe. We will continue and invite you to pray for these and other victims of the Hurricane Katrina.
The Council has been greatly moved by the numerous offers of assistance coming from friends from across the country, including wanting to host friends who have been displaced. We will continue topost these generous and sacrificial offers on the various regionallist serves. We are also heartened to know that special devotionalactivities, open to the public and seekers, are being organized by communities throughout the region for our dear brothers and sisters in the Gulf Coast, particularly Louisiana and Mississippi, who havesuffered a devastating catastrophe.
We beg the Blessed Beauty to help our nation turn this latest crisesinto an opportunity to become closer to our Creator and recognize ouroneness.
